All residents are welcome to participate
October 25, 2017 (Hagåtña) — The Calvo-Tenorio Administration is hosting its fourth quarterly Islandwide Beautification Day on Saturday, November 18.
The clean up was originally set for October 28 but because of the recent inclement weather it was rescheduled to November 18.
“I want to invite every Guamanian to join us on November 18,” Acting Governor Tenorio stated. “Let us all work together to keep our island clean and beautiful.”
The clean up will begin at 7 a.m.
Volunteers will be recording the type of trash they find, along with where they find it. GovGuam agencies are participating in this effort.
We also are partnering with the Department of Education, which has added Islandwide Beautification Day as a Service Learning opportunity for students. Please note, that all minors MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
MATERIALS & SUPPLIES:
• You are welcome to bring your own gloves and bags but we will have gloves and bags at each site.
• There will be two colored bags, one for regular trash and one for recyclable materials.
• We will have data cards, similar to those used for International Coastal Cleanup, to build up the database of what is collected and where.
WHAT TO WEAR: Please wear comfortable clothing. We recommend long-sleeved shirts and pants, and closed-toe shoes.
WHERE TO GO: There are more than 40 locations where volunteers can choose to help.
