$19.3M to be Distributed to 8,766 Retirees and Survivors on Oct. 15, 2022

Hagåtña, Guam – Just as she has in each year of her Administration, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero ordered the early release of $19.3 million for Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) payments. Although due on November 1, payments will be made on October 15, 2022. In accordance with Public Law 36-107, this year 8,766 retirees and survivors will receive $2,200 each by check or direct deposit.

“We recognize that high prices continue to impact our community, so we have ensured that our Administration stays on top of prioritizing every opportunity to deliver direct relief and financial assistance in as many ways as possible,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero. “COLA payments are the government’s responsibility, but we took decisive action now to provide our retirees and their survivors with increased spending power sooner rather than later.”

“COLA payments afford our retirees and their families the opportunity to invest in healthcare, home improvements, and a higher quality of life,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “Governor Lou and I stand committed to supporting all those who have contributed their time in public service, in addition to creating wider nets of support for our whole community.”
