NEWS: Adelup Reaches out to Consulate General’s Office after shooting in Resorts World Manila
Upon hearing the news of a shooting at Resorts World Manila, Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio, reached out to the Philippines Consulate General’s Office.
“I spoke with Gary, as the Consulate General is in the Philippines, and expressed my condolences and prayers for the people of the Philippines as it goes through this terrible event,“ said Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio. “The news was a shock and truly saddens me, as we just marked Philippines Independence Month with a proclamation last night.”
Early this morning, a gunman set fire to several gaming tables and shot machines and video screens in the Resorts World Manila. His tirade created panic and caused the injuries to many people who sought to escape the gunfire. Resorts World Manila is a popular site for tourists from around the world, including Guam.
Governor Eddie Baza Calvo called for prayers for those hurt during the fearful event.
“Christine and I offer our support for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines as authorities investigate this incident,” he stated. “We pray for all of those who were injured and for their families who, understandably, were fearful for the lives of their loved ones.”
