Hagåtña — The Guam Department of Corrections celebrated the first ever graduating class from its Fu’una Rising group program on Thursday, June 7, at the corrections facility in Mangilao.
Fu’una Rising, named in honor of the Chamorro Goddess of Creation, is focused on providing support and “soft skill development” like anger management, stress management and other fundamental skills critical for successful re-entry into our island community.
Several Women Owned Small Businesses in construction have teamed with NAWIC Guam #381 and the Guam Department of Corrections (DOC) to fundraise and implement services for the female inmates at the DOC. First Lady Christine Calvo, is the Honorary Advisor.
