Hagatna, Guam (Sept. 25, 2017) — Governor Eddie Baza Calvo met with Grants Management Specialists Keith Aughenbaugh and Aimee Munzi, and Guam Desk Officer Krystina Alfano today. The three members are from the Office of Insular Affairs.
In January of this year, the Governor wrote a letter to the Department of Insular Affairs regarding Capital Improvement Project (CIP) proposals for Fiscal Year 2017. Following the letter, the Government of Guam has now received a total of $3,578,000 in FY2017 grants through the Office of Insular Affairs CIP program.
“I want to thank the Department of Insular Affairs for these grants. The conditions of our schools and public safety agencies have always been a priority of mine and I remain committed to work towards the betterment of our island,” said Governor Eddie Baza Calvo.
These funds will be divided among various agencies of the Government of Guam. The following grant awards are enclosed:
ABCs Deferred Maintenance Program – $1,000,000
GFD Fire Pumper Truck and Ambulance – $1,000,000
GPD Police Vehicles – $1,000,000
Governor’s Complex Phase II Renovations – $578,000
“The people of Guam will be thankful for this. Our public schools will start seeing even more improvements and our public safety agencies will be equipped with the tools they need to improve even further,” said Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio.
