August 16, 2017 (Hagåtña) – Department of Parks and Recreations together with the Inarajan Mayor’s Office held a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning for the newly renovated Inarajan Pool Park.

 

“Preserving our parks means preserving our culture and the beauty of our island. We commend the hardworking men and women at DPR for helping us keep our island’s parks clean for our island residents and our visitors to enjoy,” Governor Eddie Calvo said.

 

A full renovation of all of the park’s pavilions included concrete and electrical repairs, pressure washing and painting.

 

“We continue to support DPR in all of their efforts in maintaining our island’s parks. Governor Calvo and I will continue to work hard in preserving our parks for the future generations to come.” Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio stated.

 

The funding for the renovation came from limited Gaming Fund of $268,000, which included renovations for three other parks in Alupang, Umatac, and Asan. Linda Borja, from the Inarajan Mayor’s Office states, “Thank you Governor Calvo for making Inarajan Pool Park a part of the Guamanian Dream.”

 

“We’d like to thank the Administration for helping us find the funds for the renovations of these parks, we will continue to do our best to maintain the beauty of our parks.” DPR Director Bill Reyes, said.
