Hagåtña — Sen. Frank Aguon is opposing an amendment to reduce government costs by $30 million.

It’s unclear if he opposes it because he wants to reduce cost-cutting measures, or if he wants to cut even deeper.

Senators, last night, agreed to require cost-cutting measures of $30 million. This would be balanced by the tax increase that would help stabilize the government, the Department of Education and the Guam Memorial Hospital.

The Governor has committed to working with Senators to reorganize the government and reduce costs.
