Governor Eddie Baza Calvo had his fiscal team and the current head of the Veterans Affairs Office look into the questioned costs of this grant.

This happened after the former head, John Unpingco, revealed the documents associated with the spending of this grant went missing. The Governor gives his directors and administrators the latitude to run their agencies – in this case a former federal judge was in charge of the agency.

Vietnam Veteran Command Sgt. Major (U.S. Army ret.)Martin A. Manglona was appointed to lead Veterans Affairs Office in May this year. Immediately upon his assignment, Manglona and the Department of Administration began working with auditors.

“I don’t want unresolved questioned costs on my watch,” Governor Calvo stated. “We’re getting to the bottom of this.”
