Shimizu coordinating massive donation drive on behalf of students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 2, 2012

The Works! Foundation has just received the first two commitments from companies donating paint to public schools. Ann Marie Muna, President and General Manager of AM Insurance, called this morning confirming her donation. The news was followed by a commitment from CoreTech International.

“This is the biggest expense, so I’m just so grateful to CoreTech and AM Insurance for doing this,” Atty. Naoko G. Shimizu said. Atty. Shimizu is Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio’s better half, and President of The Works! Foundation. The couple started the non-profit organization last year to help the Islandwide Beautification Task Force’s efforts to clean up Guam.

Atty. Shimizu has been soliciting companies to make paint donations to public schools in support of the Governor’s Adopt-a-School program, which launches this Saturday. Companies have been calling with their interest. The Works! Foundation appreciates the generosity of Guam’s business community and the concern of these businesses for public school students.

Atty. Shimizu is tallying commitments through the night and tomorrow morning and will make a presentation to the Governor at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) in front of Astumbo Elementary School.

Local companies willing to donate are encouraged to call Troy Torres at 486-8887.
