37,000 Early Filers for Tax Year 2021 Paid To Date
Hagåtña, Guam – On May 26, 2022, the Department of Revenue & Taxation processed and the Department of Administration mailed checks, or paid by direct deposit, approximately 2,262 Tax Year 2021 and prior income tax refunds totaling $5,802,929 forerror-free returns filed on, or before, April 07, 2022.
Refunds paid to date have reached an unprecedented high of over $140 million of which another first was achieved with over $114 million (or 81%) paid to over 37,000 early filers. Over the past 10 weeks since the first batch of TY 2021 refund payments rolled out, more than 90% of each weekly payment were paid to early filers, all the direct result of consistent weekly payments and a steady 6-8 week turnaround time.
NOTE: Individuals receiving payment by direct deposit will see a $0 transaction in their bank account prior to receiving their refunds ( -note).
