$130M Total Investment in Supporting Ratepayers

Hagåtña, Guam – The Government of Guam, in partnership with the Guam Power Authority (GPA), is pleased to announce the release of the fifth installment of monthly power credits to aid ratepayers in managing their energy bills. This initiative represents a $130 million investment, providing significant financial relief to households and businesses facing rising costs of living. This latest installment totals $5,276,000.

The monthly power credit program, initiated in 2022, has been made possible through the careful financial stewardship of the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration and executed by the Department of Administration. Through disciplined budgeting, effective management, and repeated surpluses, the government has ensured that programs like these can directly benefit the people of Guam.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero emphasized the critical role of sound financial planning in ensuring sustained relief to residents, stating, “Our ability to deliver these power credits is a direct result of our administration’s strong financial management and consistent surpluses. We have always been committed to providing real, impactful assistance to the people of Guam. This $130 million investment proves that when we prioritize fiscal responsibility, we can create opportunities that reduce the burden on our families and businesses.”

Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio echoed the Governor’s sentiments, highlighting the administration’s commitment to supporting residents in meaningful ways, and added, “This program has been a sustained effort to ease the cost of living. Our administration has worked tirelessly to ensure that we not only manage public funds efficiently but also reinvest them back into our community. The power credit program is an important part of that mission, and we will continue to look for ways to provide relief and support to our people whenever possible.”
