Hagåtña, Guam — Acting Governor Josh Tenorio is calling on the people of Guam to join a national birthday campaign for one of the last remaining World War II Raiders, and a true hero of Guam’s liberation, Frank S. Wright, who is turning 100 years old this year. The former U.S. Marine Cpl. recently returned to Guam in July 2024 for the 80th Anniversary of our island’s liberation. For his 100th birthday on July 5th, he has one heartfelt request: to receive 100,000 postcards. Acting Governor Tenorio is asking the people of Guam to help fulfill that wish.

“Frank Wright is more than a veteran. He’s a living link to our past, and a warrior who helped return freedom to our shores,” said Acting Governor Tenorio. “As one of the last surviving WWII Raiders, his bravery is etched into our history. He fought in some of the most brutal battles in the Pacific, including Guadalcanal, New Georgia, Iwo Jima, and right here on Guam. He is part of our story, and we are part of his. I ask our community, from students and veterans to artists and families, to join in this campaign and send Frank a postcard. Let’s let him know that the people of Guam remember. Let’s surround him with the warmth, gratitude, and pride that he so deeply deserves.”

Postcards for Frank S. Wright may be sent to:
