Hagåtña, Guam — Acting Governor Josh Tenorio today expressed his appreciation to Guam Delegate James Moylan for his prompt and thoughtful response to concerns raised regarding a federal legislative proposal that would impose a tax on remittances.
“I want to thank Delegate Moylan for his assurance that the current version of the bill will not impact Guam,” said Acting Governor Tenorio. “Given the fluid nature of the legislative process in Congress, where provisions can be added, amended, or removed rapidly, it is essential that Team Guam remains in close communication to protect the interests of our people in real time.”
Acting Governor Tenorio emphasized the importance of continued vigilance and coordination as the bill moves through Congress. “We appreciate Delegate Moylan’s commitment to safeguarding Guam throughout this process, and I welcome his partnership as we work together to ensure our island is not unfairly impacted by federal legislation.”
The Acting Governor reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to closely monitoring developments in Washington, D.C., and pledged to work in close collaboration with Guam’s congressional leadership to advocate for fairness and protect the people of Guam.
