Calvo Signs Hospital Board Legislation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 4, 2011
Governor Eddie Baza Calvo signed a measure into law that places the governing board for the Guam Memorial Hospital back in compliance with the Organic Act. Public Law 31-14, formerly Bill No. 127-31, repeals provisions in the Guam Code Annotated that created a nominating council tasked to fill vacancies in GMH’s Board of Trustees. Recently, Attorney General Leonardo M. Rapadas declared that language inorganic.
It’s important for the government, as a whole, to act quickly so we can give the best patient care possible. That’s what I have been advocating all along,” Governor Calvo said.
