(Tamuning, Guam – March 14, 2025) The Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) is hosting a free, virtual export training conference, “Taking the LEAP: Beyond Guam,” on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Taking the LEAP Export Training Conference is an excellent opportunity for local businesses, aspiring entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in expanding their knowledge of exporting. This interactive conference will provide resources, insight, and access to export opportunities. Taking the LEAP is a component of the State Trade Expansion Program (GU STEP), funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. This will be GEDA’s fourth event of this type.
The purpose of the event is to provide local small businesses and entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and strategies to export to international markets and connect them with potential export opportunities. Additionally, it provides a platform to hear from industry experts and learn from other local businesses who have already embarked on their export journey.
“My administration is fully committed to supporting our local businesses as they share our CHamoru culture through their products to the rest of the world,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero. “Taking the Leap Beyond Guam, GEDA’s signature export conference as part of Guam STEP, has provided export readiness trainings and resources to our business community for the past few years. I look forward to seeing the continued growth of our businesses as they take the leap into the global market.”
This year’s event will highlight Coat Zone (Hawaii), Oregon State University Food Innovation Center, the Guam Unique Merchandise & Art (GUMA), Mana Up (Hawaii), Black Sand Publishing (Hawaii), Big Picture International (Japan), Hawaii Technology Development Corporation, R&L Associates (Japan), the Agricultural Trade Office (Japan), Hawaiian Chip Company, and more.
