Governor Calvo agrees with Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz’s idea to increase transparency in unclassified employees’ salary levels and wants to ensure the new standard is applied to all three branches.

“I want to take his idea further and set these standards to the three equal branches of government,” the Governor stated. The Judiciary and the Legislature have unclassified employees. Salaries for the other two branches are set by their respective leaders, just as the Governor has the legal authority to set his staff’s salary levels.

Today, the Governor is submitting four proposed amendments to Bill 222 that he hopes will create equity and fairness with regard to salaries of the unclassified employees.
