Guam beat out scores of countries in the Miss World competition. Miss Guam World Jeneva Bosko ranked 30 out of 117 country contestants,  but she did not make it to the final round of 15 who move into the televised competition.
“We should all be very proud of her,” Governor Calvo said. “She represented us well and she made Guam shine.”
The 19-year-old Chalan Pago resident has been in China representing the island in the international competition. She constantly updated the island on her activities as an ambassador of Guam to the competition through her Miss World – Guam Facebook site, found at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Miss-World-Guam/319564131460164.
She returns to Guam tomorrow at 5 a.m. via the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam. Her family and friends will be at the terminal to welcome her home.
Jeneva kept a bright spirit throughout the competition. She wrote this on her Facebook site Saturday night:
“Hafa Adai & Good Morning Guam!!! Tonight is pageant night. I will be in the Dances of the World segment… a first for Asia Pacific to be featured. I’m so happy and honored to represent our beautiful island. My Mom, Auntie Patsy, Auntie Marie, Ms Chet Neri (President – Miss World Guam) and Ms Lou San Nicolas (Board Member – Miss World Guam) are here in Ordos! Si Yu’us Ma’ase from the bottom of my heart for ALL your outpouring of prayers, support and love. Thank you Lord for all your blessings. God Bless! Jeneva Bosko.”
