FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 25, 2013

Governor Eddie Baza Calvo and Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio are proud to announce that GovGuam agencies will participate in the Adopt-a-School program in anticipation for SY 2013-2014.

The Adopt-a-School program is a partnership between GovGuam agencies and Guam’s Department of Education that prepares campuses by landscaping, painting, and facilitating repairs for the beginning of the school year.

The kick-off organizational meeting will be held tomorrow, June 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ordot-Chalan Pago Elementary School cafeteria. School principals and their staff members will meet with agency heads to begin outlining needs of their schools prior to the first day of classes.

Notices have been sent out to all school principals and agencies to meet each other at tomorrow’s session and initiate the program.

We look forward to another great partnership between GovGuam agencies and the public schools. We encourage companies, military partners, or community organizations to participate in the Adopt-a-School program.
