FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 19, 2012

First Lady Christine M.S. Calvo, Honorary Chairwoman of the Tourism Education Council, is encouraging the community to support the Tourism Education Council’s annual “Jingle Bell Run.”  The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 24, 2012, features great prizes for participants in costumes, along with a decoration contest for strollers, wagons and wheel chairs.

“This is a great event for the community to get together after the Thanksgiving Holidays to get active and celebrate with one another for a beneficial cause,” First Lady Calvo said.  “Tourism is the driving force of our economy and we need to support any initiative that strengthens our community’s awareness, especially among our students, for this important industry.”

Proceeds for the annual run/walk go toward the TEC’s programs and activities that focus on Guam’s visitor industry such as the “Wave Club” that provides students throughout the island’s schools with first hand experience about the inner-workings of the visitor industry.
