FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 1, 2011
First Lady Christine Calvo is encouraging the community to spend this holiday season celebrating the gift of family by spending more time with loved ones and participating in the many events and activities being held throughout the island.
“Skinner Plaza is a very festive place to take your family,” First Lady Calvo said. “I was so happy to see so many families spending quality time together. I encourage all parents out there to step back from their busy schedules and share this special time of year with their children.”
The First Lady lit the Plaza this past weekend to kick off the holiday season with the Guam Chamber of Commerce, the Guam Visitors Bureau, the Mayor’s Council of Guam and hundreds of Guam’s families.

The First Lady also is encouraging Guam’s families to be mindful of those less fortunate by contributing time or gifts to various charitable organizations. Proceeds from this event will go toward helping foster children during the holidays.
