Hagåtña, Guam – The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration continues delivering housing relief to the people of Guam and as of March 10, 2022, has released $107,875 in mortgage payments to lenders and $10,133 in utility payments on behalf of homeowners through the Guam Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF). Another $3,902 in due property taxes also will be paid for property owners impacted by the pandemic, for a total of nearly $122,000 in HAF aid distributed.

“Whether it was providing rental aid, unemployment assistance, or business relief, our administration has been committed to carrying our community through this crisis,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero. “As more homeowners are relieved from financial hardship, we know there is more work to be done on our road to recovery. We will continue demonstrating our dedication to uplifting Guam’s families and delivering relief, so our people can rise and thrive.”

“Under the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration, our service agencies have worked hard to stand up public assistance and relief programs from scratch to ensure the people of Guam and their properties are protected,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “If you applied for HAF and have been notified of your pre-qualification, we encourage you to submit all supporting documents by Friday, March 25, 2022, to move further along the process and receive relief in the upcoming batches.”

Launched on January 31, 2022, the Guam Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), administered by the Department of Administration, assists homeowners struggling to pay their mortgages, utilities, or property taxes due to the impacts of the pandemic. HAF funds are paid directly to lenders and utility agencies and offer assistance of up to $15,000 for qualified homeowners.
