“I want to welcome Cebu Pacific to Guam. Today marks a milestone for the airline and for Guam as we have been working together for about two years to bring them here. Their presence on Guam marks the growing diversity of our tourism industry.”

– Governor Eddie Baza Calvo

Ribbon cutting held for Cebu Pacific office on Guam

The Guam International Airport Authority and Guam Visitors Bureau joined representatives of Cebu Pacific Air for a ribbon-cutting today at their new office in Tiyan.

The office is now open to start booking flights, the first of which will launch on March 15, 2016.

“We first met with Cebu Pacific a couple of years ago. Once it was clear that they were interested in coming to Guam, we started working together to bring them to Guam,” said Charles Ada, GIAA administrator. “Today’s a great day for us. With Cebu Pacific joining our team as our 14th signature airline, we’ll be able to attract more tourists and business people to Guam, and grow our economy.”

This new service enables more travelers to visit Guam from the Philippines. The budget airline also caters to destinations such as Thailand, Japan, Hongkong, Dubai, Bali, and Australia among others.

With this additional value-priced airline now servicing Guam, we will see more tourists and investors coming in from different parts of the region that will push us forward to our vision of Guam 2020.

“With Cebu Pacific joining our Guam family, we will see more tourists and investors coming in from different parts of the region,” Governor Calvo stated. “That will help us meet the goals set in Guam 2020. We invite our Filipino brothers and sisters to visit our beautiful and affordable island for the weekend, for extended vacations, or for business.”
