(Hagatna, Guam) Two GovGuam agencies have signed up every one of its employees, who are native inhabitants, into the Guam Decolonization Registry. Director of Administration Christine Baleto, and Guam Visitors Bureau deputy manager Telo Taitague yesterday (at a Cabinet meeting) reported to Gov. Calvo that their agencies accomplished this milestone.

“I’m very proud of the employees of these agencies,” Governor Calvo said. “I’m proud of all the employees throughout our government who’ve signed up, especially the folks who stepped forward to be volunteer registrars. We thank all of them. This is another historic step forward in our pursuit of self determination and the decolonization of our people.”

The other agencies continue their efforts. Larger agencies, such as Department of Education and Guam Memorial Hospital, are planning registration drives within their agencies.

Any qualified native inhabitant may sign up at any GovGuam executive branch agency. Most of the Cabinet members are volunteer registrars. Every agency has at least one employee who also is a volunteer registrar.
