The Southern High School Community will soon be able to utilize its gymnasium, which has been in a state of disrepair for years now. This morning, Acting Governor Ray Tenorio signed off on the $2.9 million contract to fix the campus gym.
“When the Governor and I tour the south, the question of Southern High’s gym always comes up,” Acting Governor Tenorio said. “This money has been ready to be spent for two years; now I’m happy it’s being put to good use. Our students deserve a complete education. This contract, along with the one Governor Calvo signed to renovate Southern High School’s fine arts auditorium will go a long way to giving these students the education they deserve.”
