The Department of Revenue & Taxation is working with taxpayers whose names were inadvertently listed as still owing real property tax payments.

“We recently sent out ‘Real Property Tax Reminder Notices’ to more than 21,700 taxpayers,” stated Paul Pablo, Deputy Tax Commissioner. “The names and properties are part of the latest listing from a new system. Rev & Tax is migrating data between the old system and this new one.”

Rev & Tax officials are grateful for the patience and help provided by taxpayers. The agency is working to improve services but acknowledges that there are some technical issues.

“We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing our taxpayers,” said Marie Benito, Deputy Director. “As we work to improve our system, we are coming up on some challenges, which we are addressing. With this fixes we are making now, this shouldn’t be an issue next year.”

Taxpayers who have questions about a letter they received, can call their office or send an email.
