Hafa Adai! Governor Eddie Baza Calvo and Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio would like to wish the people of Guam a Happy Thanksgiving, and ask that you pray for those less fortunate. Please listen to their message by clicking here, or by reading the text below. Si Yu’os Ma’ase.

Lt. Governor:
Tomorrow, tables will be blessed all across the island. You’ll be with your family — happy to share a meal and make the important memories that can only come from the precious time we have to spend with one another.

Governor:
We are a strong people because we are a family…and Ray and I couldn’t be more blessed to spend our days working for you. Through challenge and strife, good times and success, we all stand by one another, knowing that the only way forward is together.

Lt. Governor:
As we celebrate this day, let’s remember to pray for those whose Thanksgiving won’t be blessed with abundance: the soldiers fighting for freedom.

Governor:
The children, who are abandoned and alone, who have so much love to give

Lt. Governor:
The poor and hungry, who will have no feast, but will still give thanks

Governor:
The lonely and shunned, who just want a friend

Lt. Governor:
And let’s pray for each other — for all that we go through and all we will overcome.

Governor:
May God’s blessings be upon each and every one of you on this Thanksgiving Day.
