Hagåtña, Guam – Acting Governor Josh Tenorio issues the following statement on the Omicron Variant and the first confirmed case in Hawaii:

“Our Administration continues to closely monitor the latest information on the Omicron Variant, including the first confirmed case detected in Hawaii. Like the rest of the world, we are vigilantly waiting on more information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. At this time, what we each must do is our part. The emergence of this new threat places greater emphasis on the importance of our strategies to reduce our risk of infection, including the 3Ws, getting tested and treated if you are sick, and most importantly, getting vaccinated. We urge everyone eligible for the booster shot to join the 27,564 who have added to their defense against this virus and we plead to all parents to protect their children by getting them vaccinated as soon as possible.”
