Texas Governor Rick Perry and First Lady Anita Perry visit Guam, pay tribute to Liberators

Texas Governor and First Lady lay wreathe in honor of Guam’s Liberators                  
Texas Governor Rick Perry, and his family made a brief stop on Guam yesterday to pay tribute to the late Dr. Joseph Thigpen. He is Texas First Lady Anita Perry’s father, and took part in the liberation of the island during World War II.
Upon their arrival, the First Family of Texas was greeted by Governor Eddie Baza Calvo and First Lady Christine M.S. Calvo at the A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport.
The Texas First Family was then escorted to the Governor’s office where they laid a wreath on Adelup Beach to honor First Lady Perry’s father and all Guam Liberators.  Governor Perry was a Republican Party candidate in the 2012 U.S. Presidential election.
