Ysrael and Baker Families Donate $35,000 for Japan

First Lady Christine Calvo received $35,000 from the Ysrael and Baker families for the government-wide disaster relief efforts benefiting the people of Japan. This money will be donated to the Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross on behalf of the Guam government.
DNA EVOLUTION, owned by the Baker family, created distinctive t-shirts and is selling them for $20 each. All proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts are for the Guam government-wide disaster relief efforts benefiting the people of Japan. Donna and Jude Baker from DNA EVOLUTION presented the First Lady and Caroline Sablan, from the American Red Cross, a check for $10,000. Most of the $10,000 donation was from the sale of the t-shirts. Donna Baker said to the First Lady, “We’re going to continue to sell these t-shirts at our store and other locations. If we sell more than $10,000, you’ll be getting another check.” These t-shirts are still available at DNA EVOLUTION for $20 each.
Michael Ysrael presented a check for $25,000 from Tanota Partners, Outrigger Guam Resort, The Plaza, Oceanview Hotel and Bayview Hotel.
Governor Calvo said, “On behalf of my wife, myself, and the Red Cross, I want to thank the Baker and Ysrael families for their generous contributions. The people of Guam are so giving. You are a fine example of the Hafa Adai spirit.”
Ysrael said, ”We’ve had a long relationship with Japan and we know they’ll rebuild because they are strong people. We know from experience from the Red Cross in Guam that this organization provides great help to the individual people dealing with the losses.”
