Hagåtña, Guam – Funding is now available to the Guam Police Department to purchase security cameras and other related equipment. Governor Lou Leon Guerrero has signed Bill 132-35 into law.

Public safety remains a top priority for our Administration and I understand the essential need for security cameras in public areas. It not only helps to solve crimes, security cameras may even prevent crimes,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “I appreciate Senator Taitague’s collaboration in adopting and introducing my alternative bill as well as the leadership of Speaker Muña-Barnes and her colleagues for their support of this measure.”

Governor Leon Guerrero first vetoed a similar measure, Bill 20-35, because the bill did not identify a proper funding source. The Governor sent an alternative bill to the Legislature which was adopted and introduced by Senator Taitague as Bill 132-35 and now signed into Public Law 35-22.
