BREAKING NEWS: Special Session for Tax Refunds, School Maintenance, Public Safety Called
Governor Eddie Baza Calvo has just called the Legislature into special session. The session will be held tomorrow morning, at 10 a.m. Four bills introduced by Republican senators will be discussed. Those measures will spend additional Section 30 money to:
· Pay tax refunds ($9 million)
· Implement a new school maintenance initiative ($3 million)
· Pay overtime owed to public safety officers and buy police cars ($3.4 million)
