Governor Calvo is looking to former senator and Civil Service Commission Director Tony Lamorena to take the helm at the Department of Corrections.
 
“Tony brings three decades of public administration experience to the Department of Corrections. I am fully confident that he has both the capacity and experience to successfully lead this important government agency,“ the Governor said.
 
Lamorena has served as a cabinet executive for three governors. His executive experience includes:

  • Executive Director of the Guam Council of Arts and Humanities
  • General Manager of the Guam Visitor’s Bureau
  • Director of Communications
  • Director of the Bureau of Statistics and Plans

He served as a senator in the 24th, 25th, and 26th Guam Legislatures, and is the brother of Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena III.
 
Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio said, “I am looking forward to working with Tony in his new capacity. He has the experience and vision to lead, as well as the gravitas to work with all three branches of government.”
 
Lamorena wlll begin work at DOC on June 20.
