TAMUNING, Guam (October 29, 2021) – Renters in need of assistance are encouraged to apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program by November 5, 2021. The Department of Administration (DOA) will momentarily pause on accepting online applications and office submissions for ERA to allow for review and processing. ERA will resume accepting applications on November 22, 2021. The ERA Program provides rental assistance to those in greatest need impacted by income loss or other factors affecting housing stability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our Administration continues to take every action to ensure that families who experience hardships brought on by COVID-19 have the support they need to remain in their homes,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero. “To date, over $6.9 million has been provided in rent and utility financial assistance to over 1,500 households through this program.”

“We encourage residents to take advantage of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program and apply today. The program has since been expanded to cover internet services and other related household expenses in addition to rent, utilities, and arrears,” said Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio. “We will continue to assess additional solutions so that renters in financial distress can remain in their homes and avoid future evictions or loss of utilities where possible.”

Individuals may apply online at www.doa.guam.gov, via email, or in person at the ERA office located on the 2nd floor Suite 219, in the ITC building. All applicants will be notified by email or phone call of their pre-eligibility status. The ERA program is a federally funded support program administered by DOA. Applicants are protected from being evicted for non-payment of rent even though eviction moratorium protection has ended.
