Hagåtña, Guam – Governor Lou Leon Guerrero is expected to sign an Executive Order declaring Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Christmas Eve, as a Government of Guam holiday. This action will allow government employees to spend more time with their loved ones, preparing for the holiday season and embracing the spirit of family and togetherness that Christmas brings.
“Christmas is a time to reflect on the blessings we share and to connect with the people who matter most in our lives,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “Through this executive order, we are giving our hardworking government employees the gift of time—time to be with family, prepare for the season’s celebrations, and create cherished memories.”
“The declaration continues a longstanding tradition of recognizing the importance of family and community during this special time of year. During this holiday season, let us remember those who may need a helping hand or a kind word,” said Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio. “This extra day is an opportunity to extend goodwill, care for our neighbors, and celebrate the resilience and unity that define our island community.”
An Executive Order is forthcoming.
