Hagåtña – The Guam Liberation Day Parade kicked off this morning with thousands of Guamanians and island visitors lining the streets of Marine Corps Drive.

“On behalf of First Lady Christine Calvo and I, it has been an honor to be a part of the Liberation Day festivities since the 67th Liberation Day in 2011,” Governor Eddie Calvo stated. “The spirit of the CHamoru people continues to strengthen with each passing generation. It is so important that we keep our traditions and culture alive and that we never forget the legacy of honor and courage gifted to us by our Saina.”

Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio added: “We are grateful to the Mayors of Guam and all of the participants in this year’s parade! It was a great celebration of our island spirit and a beautiful way to remember all of the lives and all of the sacrifices that allow us to gather in peace and love.”
