Hagåtña, Guam – The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration has approved another round of waivers for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance overpayments. Guam Department of Labor (GDOL) Director David Dell’Isola signed off on $465,000 in PUA waivers, making the total in approved waivers approximately $8.5 million.

“Ensuring every case gets the attention it deserves has been among the top priorities of this Administration and we are working as efficiently as possible to review every application so those who may be facing PUA repayment can see some relief,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.

“The programs we pursued during the economic downturn at the height of the pandemic and the relief these programs provided to our people have proven to work. Unemployment rates are falling, more jobs are available, people are going back to work, more programs are available to assist in our recovery efforts, tourists are coming back, and construction has not ceased. The measures we’ve taken in prioritizing economic stability, to include advocating for relaxation of PUA waivers, is the cornerstone of this Administration,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio.

GDOL continues to review submitted Applications of Waiver of Overpayment for approval.
