Hagåtña, Guam – The Office of the Governor and Lt. Governor, together with the Community Defense Liaison Office (CDLO), are proud to announce the upcoming Guam Defense Forum, scheduled for September 17–18, 2025, at the Dusit Thani Hotel. The forum will convene key defense leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders to engage in dialogue on regional security, civil-military collaboration, and Guam’s role in the Indo-Pacific. The Guam Defense Forum is a premier gathering focused on the intersection of community, security, and defense in the Indo-Pacific. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the forum aims to strengthen partnerships that advance both regional stability and the well-being of the people of Guam.
Keynote speakers will include Admiral Samuel (Sam) Paparo, Commander U.S. INDOPACOM, and Assistant Secretary of Defense Dale Marks for Energy, Installations and Environment.
“The Guam Defense Forum is about bringing our community together with defense and regional partners to ensure Guam’s voice is heard in shaping the future of security in the Indo-Pacific. Guam is at the center of critical conversations, and we are committed to making sure those conversations reflect the priorities and values of our people,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.
Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio added, “Strengthening civil-military relations is not only about security—it’s about trust, transparency, and partnership, as regional challenges—from cyber threats and disinformation to natural disasters and great power competition—become increasingly complex, the Guam Defense Forum stands as a vital platform to align local and federal priorities, foster civil-military collaboration, and build community resilience. It is not merely a meeting, but a movement toward a safer, stronger, and more secure Western Pacific.”
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance communication and outreach, the Community Defense Liaison Office has also launched its official website at cdlo.guam.gov. The site serves as a hub for information on defense-related initiatives, community engagement efforts, and resources supporting transparency in civil-military relations.
Registration for the Forum is now live at https://guamdefenseforum.com.
