Hagåtña — The Department of Administration is mailing out $2 million in tax refunds today (Friday).

The Department of Revenue and Taxation printed the checks last night which cover status A returns that qualify for refunds completing all of February 14filings.

“We continue to push to get our people their tax refunds as fast as possible. If we had the tax and revenue anticipation note used by many jurisdictions this could be much faster, but we didn’t get support from enough senators,” said Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio.

“Our people deserve their tax refunds, but with if the legislature passes an irresponsible budget, the people of Guam may very well see the speed of their refunds reverse back to waiting for years and COLA payments may get delayed,” Governor Eddie Calvo stated.
