NEWS: 26 days left to nominate for the MagPRO Awards

The deadline to nominate outstanding government of Guam employees for the 2018 MagPro Awards is Aug. 3.
The MagPRO awards honor the best of the government workforce, with winners selected based on the impact of their work, leadership and commitment to public service. All government of Guam employees are eligible for nomination, and anyone familiar with a nominee’s work can submit a nomination.
“Take this time to recognize your colleague, supervisor, public servant or agency for their hard work,” Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio said. “We encourage not only our government employees, but private citizens, to submit nominations, recognizing our GovGuam workers who have helped improve the quality of life on our island.”
This year’s award categories are:

4. Employee of the Year (1-55)
5. Supervisor of the Year (1-55)

10. Cost Savings/Innovative Idea of the Year (3)
11. Integrity Award (1)
12. Excellence in Higher Education (1)
13. Inspiration & Encouragement Award (3)
14. Behind the Scenes Award (3)
15. Medal of Valor (open)
16. Silver Star Medal (open)
17. Lifesaving Medal (open)
18. Community Service & Volunteerism Award (1)
19. Female Athlete of the Year (1)

About the MagPRO Awards
The MagPRO Awards is a government-wide employee recognition program within the Executive Branch of the government of Guam. It is the highest and most competitive employee awards program bestowed by the Governor, which showcases the outstanding employees and programs of the government of Guam. The recognition and competition spans over 40 departments and agencies, and 55 occupational groups ranging from clerical, labor, trades, professional and technical positions. The various awards reflect individual and group performance, valor, cost savings, integrity, community service and
