NEWS: $2M in tax refunds for more than 1,000 families

Hagåtña — The Department of Administration is mailing out tax refund checks tomorrow to 1,026 Guamanian families.
The checks represent about $2 million and are for refunds owed to Guamanians who filed tax returns for Feb. 8 and some of those who filed Feb. 9.
“The folks at the Department of Revenue and Taxation are doing a remarkable job of collecting taxes owed to the government, which helps with obligations such as tax refunds,” Governor Calvo stated.
He added that the efforts of the executive branch employees to continue providing government services in light of reduced revenues is commendable. “Our government relies on its people to provide services to the community. With operating funds reduced by about $30 million, many people have had to take on additional responsibilities to ensure the continuation of those services. Ray and I thank you for your hard work and commitment to our island.”
