NEWS: Basta i Basula: Focus on Dededo
July 27, 2017 (Hagåtña) — Governor Calvo and Lt. Governor Tenorio are calling on the community to join the administration in this year’s third Islandwide Beautification Day to be held July 29.
“This quarter we’re focusing on Dededo. Working with Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares and Vice Mayor Frank Benavente, we identified a specific site that is between three Guam Waterworks Authority water wells. This illegal site also sits directly over our northern aquifer,” the Governor stated.
Lt. Governor Tenorio adds: “We need to protect the island’s drinking water and northern acquirer from illegally dumped trash. Thank you to the men and women who have taken time out of their weekend for this important initiative.”
This site is located off of Chalan Lamasu near the Ironwood Estates.
Community and school groups are welcome to join. Showtime is 6:30 a.m. Work will begin at 7 a.m.
MATERIALS & SUPPLIES: If you have gloves and such, you are welcome to bring those, but we will have gloves and bags to pass out at the site.
WHAT TO WEAR: Please wear long-sleeved pants, long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes. You may also want to bring bug spray and sunblock.
WHERE TO GO: Chalan Lamasu, Dededo. A map to the location is attached to this email. You also can find it on Governor Calvo and Lt. Governor Tenorio’s Facebook pages. (Map attached).
