NEWS: Boots drive for American Red Cross
The Office of the Lt. Governor is leading a boot drive along with public safety agencies to help the American Red Cross of Guam. Chita Blaise, the Chief Executive Officer of the local Red Cross Office, reached out to Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio for assistance. The Lt. Governor was proud to take up this cause again.
“The American Red Cross of Guam has helped so many of our families recover from typhoons and other natural disasters,” said Lt. Governor Tenorio.
“But they do so much more. They help mayors provide daily supplies to residents in need, they have helped families whose homes were destroyed or damaged by house fires, they teach First Aid and CPR classes, and train lifeguards, among other things. But they need our help to keep them going.”
The Lt. Governor encourages everyone to slow down when they see safety agency personnel and consider helping an organization that has assisted thousands of island residents through many emergencies.
The boot drive will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the following locations:
• Route 1/16 intersection (Micronesia Mall), Dededo
• Airport Intersection, Tamuning
• Tiyan Roadway
• Routes 8, 10, 16 — Tri-intersection in Barrigada
• ITC Intersection, Tamuning
• Chief Kepuha Loop, Hagåtña
• Routes 1/2 intersection, near Naval Base Guam gate
