Hagåtña — Governor Eddie Calvo has declared a state of mourning for the island following news of former Tamuning Mayor Frank Blas’ passing.
“The former mayor was dear to the people of our island and he will always be remembered. My wife Christine and I offer our deepest condolences to the Blas family. We are keeping them in our prayers,” said Governor Calvo.
Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio also called on the community to pray for the Blas family.
“Former Mayor Blas will truly be missed. He was a great man, and a great leader. Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio stated.
Governor Calvo has ordered flags be flown at half-staff to honor former Mayor Blas.
