Hagåtña — As of today, there have been three companies that have submitted petitions for H2B workers.

Altogether, the petitions cover more than 700 skilled workers to assist with construction projects related to military projects such as hangars and hardening of infrastructure.

The Governor continues to work with federal and local military officials to ensure that local contractors in need of getting the additional help they need via foreign skilled workers are able to do so.

“There was a promise of a One Guam approach that we continue to fight for. We have projects outside the base that are essential for our community’s growth and that cannot be ignored – if the federal government is going to allow foreign laborers to augment the local work force to get construction happening on military bases, they should be allowed to assist in projects taking place outside the base as well,” the Governor stated.
