Hagåtña – The Guam Department of Labor has a van to assist American Job Center clients who are searching for jobs.

The adoption of the van was made possible through a partnership between GDOL and the Guam Regional Transit Authority, with the goal of helping American Job Center program participants access services needed to secure jobs.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding, GRTA provided a five-passenger ADA accessible van to the American Job Center for this pilot program. Transportation services for individuals will include activities related to securing employment opportunities.

The department is finalizing policies for its usage, which may also involve trips related to education, training or needed social services within the community.

“Transportation has been one of the significant barriers that many of our clients face.  This pilot program is just another step to help our clients reach their employment goals,” GDOL Director Sam Mabini stated.
