I always want to give credit where credit is due. For that, I personally thank Senators Chris Duenas, Brant McCreadie, Tony Ada, Aline Yamashita, Tommy Morrison and Michael Limtiaco for introducing legislation that would make good on what was once an empty promise to our hardworking heroes and employees.
Bills 389-32 and 340-32 would allow the legislature to appropriate funding to pay for the unpaid balance owed to our law enforcement agencies and the remaining 50 percent in Hay Plan salary adjustments owed to our fellow GovGuam workers.
There is real money to back up this promise in a responsible and sustainable way. They’ve been through too much and they’ve sacrificed long enough. We have stabilized our finances enough to provide for the Law Enforcement Retro and the Hay plan to be fully implemented.
Thank you senators for standing up for our hardworking employees during this budget process.
