Hagåtña, Guam – Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio issue the following statement on the passing of former Agat Commissioner Antonio Reyes Terlaje:

“We join Guam in mourning the late Agat Commissioner Antonio Reyes Terlaje who served the residents of Agat from 1977 to 1981. Beyond his service to the southern community, Terlaje was a World War II survivor and endured forced labor in the rice fields. Post-war, he would rise up to leadership roles as Commissioner and in the Department of Education, the Department of Commerce Commercial Port, and various boards. We extend our condolences to his family and friends.

In honor of Commissioner Terlaje, flags will be flown at half-staff at the Governor’s Complex and on all public buildings and grounds. I invite the entire island to share in this solemn observance.”
