Hagåtña, Guam – Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio issued the following joint statement with respect to the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Noru, also known as Karding, which made landfall in the Philippines on Sunday:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and extensive damage done by Super Typhoon Noru, but we know the incredible resiliency of the Philippine people. We are confident that the spirit of Bayanihan will carry their country through this tragedy, and they will continue to have a friend in Guam and the many generous communities here that have historically supported Philippine relief efforts. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the millions of people affected by this devastation, including the thousands across our island who are anxious about their family and friends back home. Our Administration remains ready to offer as much assistance as we can.”
