Tamuning, Guam (February 26, 2021) – The Guam Housing Corporation (GHC) is still accepting
applications for Guam’s COVID-19 Mortgage Relief Program. GHC received $714,000 from the Guam
Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus
fund, to administer and implement the Mortgage Relief Program. These funds are authorized by the
CARES Act to prevent, prepare for and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Regrettably the first round of applications did not have a high approval success rate due in part to
applicants not meeting the income eligibility requirements. However, we believe there are many
mortgage holders out there who may qualify for mortgage relief assistance. The Leon Guerrero /
Tenorio Administration is committed to helping struggling families keep their homes.” said Edith
Pangelinan, Acting President of GHC. “I encourage those whose income may have been impacted by
COVID-19 and are behind with their mortgage payments to submit an application to GHC. Applications
are being accepted until May 01, 2021.”

To be eligible to receive relief assistance mortgage holders must meet the following three criteria:

1. Owner occupied primary home; and
2. Lost their job or experienced a reduction in work hours as a result of COVID-19; and
3. Household income is below the low to moderate income limit.

The application packet is available on GHC‘s website at www.guamhousing.org and/or hard copies can
be picked up right outside of GHC’s office located on the 5th floor of the ITC building in Tamuning.
Applications can be submitted via email to mortgagerelief@ghc.guam.gov or dropped off at GHC’s ITC
