On this Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. For the people of Guam, service to our nation is deeply personal. Our island’s patriotism was forged through real experiences with war — from the sacri ces of our World War II survivors to the courage of those who continue to defend freedom today. Because of this history, our sons and daughters have answered the call of duty with pride and distinction. Guam’s per capita enlistment is among the highest in the nation, a testament to the loyalty and love our people hold for country and island. Every flag raised, every deployment served, and every life lost reminds us that freedom is never free.
